I THINK WHAT WORKED FOR ME IN MY CAT JOURNEY WAS THE CUSTOMIZED GUIDANCE FROM EACH OF THESE MENTORS

Does CAT seem like an insurmountable battle to you? Are you riddled with the question of whether business education is for you or not? I was exactly in your shoes back in 2012, and today, after a long journey, I am a dual degree student in the Harvard-Wharton MPA-MBA Dual Degree Program. I just wanted to share my journey with you and the story of mentorship from Prajnan Sir, Pradip Sir, Shubhadeep Sir and Sumanta Sir, right across all these years.

I attempted CAT back in 2013, when I was a bewildered first-jobber, barely managing the time to solve the Quant problems or go back and solve RC passages. I think what worked for me in my CAT journey was the customized guidance from each of these mentors, their structured teaching in classes, and, more importantly, their personalized care outside the classes. They helped me solve every single practice exam problem and gave me tricks and tips, starting from how much time I should spend solving the paper versus analyzing it to guidance towards which questions to attempt versus which questions to not. They helped me with choosing the date of the test, since there were many slots that year; which section to attempt first since we could navigate across sections then, and how much time to spend in each section since there were no sectional time limits.

I think over the years, the format has evolved, but the complexity of the number of variables that go into a successful CAT has not. My score of 98.5 percentile in CAT was significantly higher than my dreams. I take full credit for choosing my mentors wisely at the most important juncture of my career.
